The White River Bass Masters (WRBM) hosted the 7th and final tournament of the 2015 regular season at Freeman Lake in Monticello, IN, on Sunday, September 20, 2015. Dock talk going into the tournament indicated Freeman was living up to its reputation as a tough-bite lake and it would be tough for the field to find keepers. Come tournament day this theory held true as quality bass were tough to come by. However one angler unlocked the key on a spot that produced. That angler was Tim Cooper and Tim caught 4 beautiful smallmouth bass the weighed 9.74 pounds which was easily enough for the tournament victory. Kevin Voorhis took 2nd place honors with 2 bass that went 6.41 pounds and also Big Bass honors with a very nice 3.98 lb. largemouth. 3rd place went to Dustin Hicks who brought 2 bass to the scales that weighed 5.51 pounds. Trey Green took 4th place with a beautiful smallmouth weighing 3.89 pounds. 5th place went to Matt Drew with 2.96 pounds of bass.
The tournament had another significant meaning as the final tournament of the year results determined the WRBM Angler of The Year. Coming in the front runner Josh McDermott simply had to catch a keeper bass to ensure his spot as the 2015 AOY. Josh didn’t disappoint and brought home the 2015 AOY award.
WRBM will host it’s annual Classic at Rough River Lake in Kentucky on October 17 and18.
