White River Bass Masters held their 4th tournament of the 2016 season on Sunday June 26th at Lake Shafer in Monticello Indiana. The anglers were met by high temperatures and heat indexes well over 100 degrees and dirty water due to heavy rains the week before the tournament. This resulted in a “tough bite” being reported by most of the field. Bud Smart lead the filed with a 5 fish limit that tipped the scales at 12.56 pounds. Just behind Bud was Dave Coffing with a 5 fish limit that went 10.85 pounds and third was Jim Lorts with a 5 fish limit that weighed in at 8.72 pounds. Congratulations to Tim Richardson for winning Big Bass with a 3.77 pound Largemouth. Seventeen anglers participated at Lake Shafer with a total of 38 bass being weighed in for a total of 75.9 pounds of bass with a 2 pound average fish.
