The White River Bass Masters (WRBM) held the 5th tournament of the 2014 regular season at Morse Reservoir in Noblesville, IN, on Sunday, July 20, 2014. The field had high hopes at this tournament as Morse usually fishes pretty well in the summer. The field showed up to a heavy fog on the water as a result from the very unseasonable colder weather the area has experienced in the previous week. Water temps are typically pushing or in the 90’s in late July on Morse. The field launched to water temps in the mid to lower 70’s. This uncharacteristic variable sent the anglers all over the lake in search of keeper bass.

Ben Dietzel was the best angler on the day and brought in 4 bass that went 9.14 pounds to take the win. Ben targeted structure he found in practice using his Lowrance HDS Structure Scan to find his keepers on tournament day. Ben caught his bass on a variety of baits including a spoon. Coming in 2nd place with another 4 bass bag was Steve Haas. Steve finished with 7.52 pounds on the day. David Replogle brought 3 bass to the scales and took 3rd place with an even 5 pounds. The creel helped David move into 3rd place in the WRBM Angler of the Year race. Big bass of the tournament went to Neil Queisser with a 3.46 pound Largemouth. This fish helped Neil protect his 2nd place position in the WRBM AOY race. Coming in 4th place with 3 bass for 4.94 pounds was Bob Foxworthy. 5th place went to Trey Green who had 3 fish that went 4.82 pounds.

WRBM will be at it again on August 1th at Glenn Flint Reservoir near Greencastle, IN.
