White River Clean-up  Report  14 APRIL 2007

We had 3 members show up on a cold rainy Saturday.  Ben Dietzal, John Green and Bill Morrison.  We spent 4 hours picking up trash along Pleasant run on the east side of Indianapolis.  All told there were about 120 show up. We were transported on school buses from the Zoo to the creek. The 3 members of WRBM collected 12 bags of trash , a baseball, brake rotor, bicycle and 2 tires.  Being fisherman we were prepared for the weather with our rainsuits.

For all you single guys out there the Cleanup is a required class project for the co-eds at Butler.  Hint

Friends of the white river will be having a clean-up on the river.  The date is April 14tn and people will be meeting at the zoo downtown.  It will be done by early afternoon and free lunch will be served after the clean-up.  We as a club will be helping out the friends of the white river with there clean-ups this year.  They will schedule there dates so they do not conflict with our tourney schedule.  If you can help out on this date post on this thread.  If you have a jet boat or canoe that would also help the cleanup project.  Thanks Trey Dawg

Ben Dietzel Wins His First  WRBM

Giest 2   May 6th 2007

Congratulations to Ben Dietzel for his first win in three years since joining WRBM in 2005.  Ben’s sack of 4 fish 8.98 lbs  just edged out his partner Rick Martledge  who weighed in a 3 fish sack of 5.95 pounds.  These 2 decimated the field of 25 anglers the rest of which blanked except for Todd Irwin Big Bass (2.61lbs) and Club President John “Trey” Green  both of which weighed in 1 fish.

The day started off  with a windy cold front pushing thru during the previous evening and continued all day.  The lake temperature was approaching 70 on satureday, By Sunday Morning with  a 15mph wind and 50 deg temperature had driven the lake down to the lower 60’s overnight.  This resulted in the entire Top 8 in the standings blanking and turning the season into a horse race with the top 5 now only separated by  10 points and next 7 separated by only 8pts.
