Ben Dietzel Wins His First WRBM Giest 2 May 6th 2007
Congraulations to Ben Dietzel for his first win in three years since joining WRBM in 2005. Ben’s sack of 4 fish 8.98 lbs just edged out his partner Rick Martledge who weighed in a 3 fish sack of 5.95 pounds. These 2 decimated the field of 25 anglers the rest of which blanked except for Todd Irwin Big Bass (2.61lbs) and Club President John “Trey” Green both of which weighed in 1 fish.
The day started off with a windy cold front pushing thru during the previous evening and continued all day. The lake temperature was approaching 70 on satureday, By Sunday Morning with a 15mph wind and 50 deg temperature had driven the lake down to the lower 60’s overnight. This resulted in the entire Top 8 in the standings blanking and turning the season into a horse race with the top 5 now only separated by 10 points and next 7 separated by only 8pts.
