Angler of the Year

2006 AOY Craig Jurgonski

I was born in Louisville,,KY.  I am 32 years old and single.  I live on the east side of Indianapolis.  My favorite water is Geist, White River, Morse and Patoka.  My favorite clear water fisheries are St. Joes river and Wawasee.  I fish from a 2004 Triton 186 w/ a 150 EFI Mercury.  I have been fish competitive tourneys since 1994.  I fish in the Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail (Indiana North Division).  I have been a part of two other top 8 clubs.  West Indy Bassmasters and The P.O.Pluggers.  I have fished in 4 top 8 tourneys but never advanced to the next level.  I have participated in one National Championship Tourney on Kentucky Lake for Fisher of Men Trail.  I try to fish as many Wednesday Night White River tourneys as I can in the summer months.  My goals are to fish in the Federation Championship through the top 8 club and win a angler of the year title.

I believe in Triton Boats, Shimano reels, McCoy line, Jewel jigs, R&B Plastics, and Ford Trucks.

I have been fishing since I was about 2, competitvely since I was about 12.
Favorite lake: Hard to narrow it down, Minnetonka because it is a great fishery and you never know what the next cast will give you. For around here though I would have to say White river.
Accomplishments: I was the president of the Purdue Bass club while in college. Angler of the Year 2006 WRBM, Part of the Big Ten Champion Team 2002, Part of three Old Minnow Bucket wins (Purdue vs. IU), White River World Champion 2005 (Just a joke about how the Wednesday nighters went that year), Hoosier Musky Hunters Youth Angler of the year 1995-1999(held the title until I was to old to fish the division.
Family: Both parents, 2 (older) sisters, 3 nephews and one Niece.
Favorite fishing techniques: Jig fishing would have to be top, followed by tube fishing. Regardless of the body of water I will probably be somewhere that there is current.
Club fishing: I have been in clubs since I 2001, but this past year was my first year in the WRBM.
